Angela McCormick has been a public school parent, volunteer and advocate since 2002. She is the Membership Outreach Chair for the Missouri PTA as well as serves on the school district's legislation advocacy committee, the Comprehensive School Improvement committee for the middle school and community resource sub-committee. Additionally, she serves on the middle school PTA as well as volunteers in the elementary and middle school libraries. She served two years as the PTA President for her children's elementary school. Her position as PTA President was tested by the destructive tornado that struck on Good Friday 2011 where many families within the school district experienced devastating losses. Within 48 hours of the tornado, she organized a donation center for families within the entire school district securing donations of clothing, food, toys, household and personal care items. Four days after the tornado, families were able to come to the center for assistance.
She was the 2012 Missouri Delegate for Parenting magazine's Mom Congress. She has a MA in Public Administration from Saint Louis University and is an adjunct professor for Ashford University teaching Public Policy and Urban Management courses.
