Imagine, just wanting an education and being shot by the Taliban in an attempt to silence you. That was the world’s horror when on October 9, 2012, 15-year-old Malala Yousafzai, of Pakistan was shot in the head. But bullets can’t stop her.
No one should be denied an education.
The Malala Fund on behalf of Malala and her family, working together with the United Nations Foundation and Girl Up, and several other organizations and individuals, to support the education and empowerment of girls in Pakistan and around the world.
Three ways you can take action.
In response to the appeal a number of generous donors have stepped up with a challenge, and will MATCH donations made to the Malala Fund between 12:00 P.M.-12:00 A.M. EST today. Twitter will also be contributing free ads to drive traffic to the Malala Fund.
1. Contribute to her cause at MalalaFund.org or, donate $10 by texting “BRAVE” to 27722.
–All donations collected from 12:00P.M.- 12:00 A.M. EST will be matched, dollar for dollar.
2. Share Malala’s fight with your friends and networks and join the conversation TODAY on Twitter using #MalalaFund. Share these sample tweets:
