There’s no better organization to support than St. Jude’s so when the invite came through Facebook, I immediately RSVP’d and I’m urging you to join! The Latina community, Mamiverse and St. Jude are joining forces to the end of the year and the start of the New Year by sharing what you were thankful for in 2013, and how you plan to give good in 2014!
Date: Monday, December 30.
Time: 9 – 10 p.m. EST.
Mamiverse asks that you, “Bring an attitude of gratitude and a friend or two!”
All participants will be eligible to win one of five (5) $25 gift cards.
About St. Jude’s:
You must have seen the PSA’s from St. Jude’s and support from celebrities like Jennifer Aniston. St. Jude’s started by Danny Thomas back in 1962 and today his daughter, Marlo Thomas, carries the messaging forward.
• St. Jude treats children from all 50 states and from around the world.
• No family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
• St. Jude has developed protocols that have helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to 80 percent today.
• In 1962, the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer, was 4 percent. Today, the survival rate for this once deadly disease is 94 percent, thanks to research and treatment protocols developed at St. Jude.
