Please join us for a rockin’ #MILFF twitter party on September 9th at 9pm EST.

Social Media

So here’s the story behind #MILFF hashtag and how it’s all led to a #MILFF twitter party.

I started using the #MILFF (Moms I Like 2 Follow Friday) hashtag about a year ago. I was actually afraid at first that all the moms would think it was silly or a bit risque till they got the twist. But it caught on. I don’t dare leave a mom off the list or I will get a message about being left out. Moms tell me they love telling their hubbies about being a MILFF and resulting look they get. They tell me how they look forward to the laugh it gives them even though they’ve come to expect it every Friday.

So I decided to make a few #MILFF t-shirts to take with me to Blogher. Needless to say, I didn’t bring even one back. I tweeted about having #MILFF shirts and there have been a number of requests for a shirt.

Adding to this story, one of my co-workers, Seth Berk, told me he would take me to lunch when I hit 5,000 followers on Twitter. Just because I like to cause a little trouble once in a while, I tweeted that he would be throwing a party for my 5,000 followers and me. Not a buying me lunch. My Twitter stream blew up for about 3 hours that night. And it continued for the next couple of days. Poor Seth at my office didn’t truly understand the power of the social Mom till then. LOL!

So in honor of all my loyal followers, we are ACTUALLY going to throw a #MILFF Twitter party. Karina Tano graciously volunteered to help host in exchange for a #MILFF t-shirt and has been busy sourcing prizes for the night.

  1. Hey there superb website! Does running a blog similar to
this require a lot of work? I have no understanding of computer programming but I had been hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyway, if you
have any suggestions or techniques for new blog owners please
share. I know this is off subject but I simply needed
    to ask. Many thanks!

    • A blog is a lot of work. You need to write a lot, and have other social channels so you can share your content and drive traffic. I’d say it takes a commitment of at least 10-15 hours a week if not more in the beginning.
