One million meals is an amazing accomplishment! But with 16 million hungry American kids, there’s still a long way to go. And the good news is Sandra Lee’s World’s Largest Bake Sale is still going on.
It’s not too late to make a donation at www.recipefornokidhungry.com And Ty Pennington, the Sears Brand Ambassador, crafted a handmade “Bake Sale” stand which is being auctioned off by No Kid Hungry to further raise funds this month at a charity auction www.biddingforgood/shareourstrength. It’s a one of a kind. And Ty borrowed a megaphone from the police to get the crowd going inside and outside of Grand Central.
The World’s Largest Bake Sale runs through May 31st.
Kmart will continue to support No Kid Hungry throughout the summer.
Thirty-five participating restaurants donated delicious baked goods from the sweet to the savory and all proceeds were donated to the No Kid Hungry programs (with proceeds shared by No Kid Hungry with the Food Bank for New York City).
#WorldsLargestBakeSale was buzzing on social media before, during and after with celebrity co-hosts tweeting and posting photos. The #WorldsLargestBakeSale Twitter party on April 25 received the most impressions in Sears Holding Company history, with over 47 million views (trended on Twitter). And during the actual event, bloggers held a second Twitter party that also trended and garnered almost 27 million impressions.
And be sure to go to www.recipefornokidhungry.com to make a virtual donation or share a Sandra Lee virtual recipe card to spread awareness of the cause.
