This holiday will be all about mobile and social for mom.

Lifestyle

The holidays are upon us whether we want it or not. The stores are full of decorations, holiday music and touting their layaway plans. And moms will be armed with their smartphones and using apps to get more done and make sure they are shopping smarter. Anything that helps her feel more organized, less stressed and makes shopping more convenient will

According to eMarketer, younger moms are more when it comes to mobile shopping activities, like researching new products, downloading digital coupons, tracking sales and making purchases on their phones. Moms under age 45 were about equally as likely as moms ages 45 and older to use their phones to locate nearby stores, compare prices and make shopping lists.

And BabyCenter’s recent 2011 Shopping Rituals of the American Mom study confirmed mom will be tracking deals and retail events, comparison shopping, checking products reviews and using mobile and social to make purchase decisions with friends and family.

Just in time for the holidays, here are few of my favorite apps.

WalmartLabs launches Shopycat, a gift suggestion Shopycat app for Facebook.
Not sure what you should get friends or family, Shopycat will dynamically serve up gifts for each of the members of your social graph. The app takes the data for targeting and seems to be fairly accurate. However, if you find an appropriate gift, the app takes you out of Facebook to the Walmart website.

7 For All Mankind helps shoppers but right from the Facebook wall.
While not an app, 7 For All Mankind is using 8thBridge and has F-commerce living within the wall the posts. A shopper can scroll through clothing and complete the purchase all within the wall. And to any shoppers delight, you don’t have to apply any code as it’s embedded in any purchase made through Facebook.

Navigate the mall and never get lost with FastMall.

The free FastMall app helps you navigate the mall through interactive maps that can tell you anything from restrooms, exits and elevators. And it helps you through every turn without the use of WiFi or GPS.

ShopSavvy and ShopTell keep product, store info at your fingertips.
ShopSavvy will read bar codes and give you product price comparisons, maps for finding the store, reviews and more.

ShopTell reads barcodes, but has additional functionality. Just snap the front of the package and it will also serve up all the quintessential information and allow you to purchase the product right from your phone.

The TGIBlackFriday app helps you search Black Friday deals.
No longer do you have to wait for Black Friday to do all of your shopping, the TGIBlackFriday.com app will send you alerts every time a new deal is announced. Moms will never miss a deal.

iFeast helps you make sure every meal is ready at the same time.
With so many dishes to prepare all with different timing, what’s a mom to do? Well the iFeast app helps you coordinate it all.

Do you have a favorite app? Let me know and I’ll add it to this list.
